Our mission is to provide high quality natural products to our customers.  Our farm is vertically integrated, so we use what we grow and gather to provide for the rest of the farm.  In doing so, we are building a farm that is sustainable and environmentally friendly.  We do not use pesticides, artificial additives, or preservatives.  The compost we use is created on our farm with the help of our worms and pet rabbits.  From food to skin care products, our products are as natural as they come.

Adding Blackcaps To the Farm
6/17/23

There’s nothing better than going out and picking wild blackcaps. Our family, like many, loves collecting this delicious wild berry and making all types of jams, treats and pancakes. They are fantastic on their own as well with that sweet juicy burst, followed by that satisfying tartness that we all love. Some times it can be difficult to gather enough due to the thicket that they produce. Instead of picking thorns out of my arms and patching up the war wounds after an afternoon of berry picking, I decided to look into cultivating this nutritious berry. I spent time learning and figured out a way to propagate transplants from our own wild thicket.

We are officially starting our blackcap cultivation here on the farm! With sustainablility in mind, our orchard will be started with our own local genetics to provide everyone with a high quality, and truly local product. Keep following to see what we have coming next!

Benefits Of Grass Fed Tallow For Skin
5/1/22

So what is Tallow? In short, Tallow is rendered beef fat. Most people use it for cooking the same way people use lard (from pigs). Not only is it great for cooking, but it has also been used for skincare for ages. It’s the oldest form of natural skin moisturizer in the world!  It has many benefits and it’s a skin super food! Lets take a look at some of these benefits.

Tallow contains linoleic acid, which has been proven in studies to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.  Linoleic acid, or Vitamin F, absorbs easily and provides moisture to the skin.

It’s rich in Vitamins (A, D, E, K) and antioxidants. The vitamins tallow contains, helps produce collagen. Antioxidants contain anti-aging properties.

Tallow is easily absorbed by the skin. The skin is the biggest organ of the human body and absorbs most everything that is applied to it, good and bad. Tallow is similar to sebum, which is the oily, waxy product that lubricates and waterproofs our skin. The word “sebum” actually means “tallow” in latin. Sebum is made up of lipids (fats).  The lipids in tallow are primarily in the form of triglycerides, which make it compatible with our skin’s biology and wont clog your pores!

Tallow balm can be used for just about anything on anybody! Many use it as a diaper rash cream, treatments for eczema, itchy/dry/cracked skin, sunburn, stretch marks, cuts, the list is endless.
